American depository receipts of European stocks were trading 0.34% lower at 138.88 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Monday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics (STM), and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk (NVO), which rose 1.4% and 1.3% respectively. They were followed by French biopharmaceutical company Cellectis (CLLS), up 1.2%, and digital performance marketing firm Criteo (CRTO), up 0.9%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by geophysical equipment manufacturer CGG (CGG), and medical equipment company Edap (EDAP), which lost 4.2% and 3.4% respectively. Banco Santander (SAN) was down 3.3%, while Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) shed 3.1%.

In the U.K. and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Motif Bio (MTFB), and Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), which rose which rose 12.9% and 2.4% respectively. Biopharmaceutical firm Midatech Pharma (MTP) rose 1.9% and materials technology company Luxfer (LXFR), added 1.1%.

The decliners in the U.K. and Ireland were led by GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH), and Lloyds Banking Group (LYG), which were down 3.4% and 1.6% respectively. They were followed by oilfield services firm Amec Foster Wheeler (AMFW), and Barclays Bank (BCS) which were down 1.6% each.
